Railways urges passengers to stay alert, vigilant while travelling

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) organised a half-day workshop on “Safe Use of Escalator” at DMRC Academy on April 13.
This was a concluding activity of the week long Safety Awareness of Lifts and Escalators, undertaken by DMRC from April 7-13, which aimed to enhance safety awareness amongst users of Lifts and Escalators.

The workshop brought together senior officials, technical experts, and industry representatives to deliberate on escalator safety and public awareness, a DMRC spokesperson said on Tuesday.

The event was attended by officers from Delhi Metro and other metro organisations, and representatives of Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
Approximately 150 participants attended the workshop in person and three representatives of OEMs joined online from Germany, China and Singapore, to present their perspective.
The workshop featured seven technical presentations covering diverse aspects of escalator safety and operations, six presentations were contributed by leading OEMs, highlighting innovations, safety standards, and best practices.
In addition, a demonstration of Interactive Virtual Reality (IVR) software developed for lift rescue training was showcased, highlighting DMRC’s commitment to modern training methods.
The workshop served as a collaborative platform for the DMRC, other metro organisations, and OEMs to share knowledge, exchange experiences, and reaffirm their commitment to passenger safety.
